Every Year Battle Creek Church has a Homecoming on the 1st Sunday of October. Here are some informative readings and some happy pictures of that event as we feast in the new Fellowship Hall as the fireplace sparkles in the background. Enjoy

Name
ÂBattle Creek comes from an attack by Choctaws and Chickasaws who massacred
20 settlers enroute from Red River, near Adams, to Eatons Creek Fort, July 1780. This happened on a branch of the Sycamore Creek
less than 2 miles from our church.
In 1845 a
church was constituted by six members. Land was donated in 1844 by James Watts and later
in 1872 more land by Timothy Demonbreun and wife Mary was given. They are buried in our
church cemetery, where the iron fence surrounds.

We
acknowledge the grace and blessing of our Lord, who is Head of the church, to our
survival. We acknowledge the dedication and
sacrifice of 159 yrs, by those have loved the
Lord and His church at Battle Creek.
To Him be
glory!
Our pastor,
Rev O Jewell Barrett and Loretta have been with us since 1992. Our growth in numbers is somewhat slow, but our
Spiritual growth in fellowship is visible. Our worship place has been attractively
renovated and the family center is a reflection upon GodÂs provisions and the
harmony of our church members. Two
additional acres have been purchased and boundary columns along the church and cemetery
properties have been erected. Foundation funds provided by members of the McMahan family,
supplementing the faithful tithes and offerings of our members, enable us to move forward
in meaningful ways. We are required to be faithful with what we have in the time our Lord
allots us. ÂTo Him be glory in the
church, world without end. Amen
